Celebrating Leadership

The news is in!

Our very own Victoria Hirt, year 12, has just been awarded the winner of this year's VCE Leadership Award for Victoria!

Featured on the VCAA website as one of eight finalists in this year’s VCE Leadership Awards, the judging panel were very impressed with Victoria's application and interview, and she received the news at the award ceremony last Friday.

'Wherever you see a person in need, there is an opportunity for leadership. That could be someone in your friendship group or community or a person overseas. Being a leader doesn't depend on your location, age or qualification. If you have the vision to do something that will benefit one person or a whole community, go for it. Everyone can be a leader.'

'Don’t you just love this amazing young lady’s heart for others? I had the privilege of reading her application and was overwhelmed at her commitment to helping people both at home and overseas – including being an ambassador for girls in education, CFA volunteering, working with prisoners, training adults in rural villages in Cambodia and mentoring our younger students at MCC.' - Ms Amanda Kirsten, VCE Coordinator.
